Lisa Wilkinson X Canon – Women Of Influence.

unspecified

Lisa Wilkinson OAM, supported by Canon Australia, has launched her first photographic exhibition, comprising powerful portraits of ten Australian women who have both inspired her and influenced modern Australia.

As I walked into the gallery space, my eyes lit up with glee. I love photography, I studied it throughout highschool and continue to find myself taking photos on my adventures to date.

Walking around SmartArtz Gallery, I found myself mesmerised by each image. Each Image is individually stunning and simple. Each unique to the personality in the image. Each as powerful as the next. It was like the space held the power and strength of each Australian Women captured.

My favourite image is of Gretel Packer. I have personally met Gretel a few times in the past. I love all the work she does for charity and she is a beautiful humble soul. She’s worked hard and succeeded. She is most certainly an Australian Woman of Influence.

Throughout my career as a journalist, I have been lucky enough to meet thousands of Australian women whose everyday lives involve feats of incredible strength, courage and determination,” said Lisa Wilkinson.

Through this exhibition I’ve created a series of images that, for me, represent the beauty, strength, diversity and absolute resilience of Australian women. I deeply admire all of the women who were kind enough to trust me to get behind the camera, and of course their contribution to modern Australia. I know that their unique stories will speak to all Australians, no matter their circumstances.”
