Being the trailblazer in the lifestyle and streetwear market place for more than a decade. Known for Bold designs and coloured inspired t-shirts and hoodies. TRAVISTY is hitting the Fashion + Aid runway on Sept 10th. I sat down for 5 Minutes with the man behind the label.
Since launching your brand in 2004, how has your brand grown and changed in the last 12 years?
The TRAVISTY Brand has seen growth and changes over the past 12 years. We have had large Independent retail growth and also experienced a shift to a license model through national department store distribution.
What inspired you to create your brand?
I have a passion and a love for design and brand development. The constant change and challenges keeps you driven to achieve success within a competitive market place.
Did you study fashion or graphic design? If so, do you think it has helped you achieve the success that your brand has today?
I am not a graphic designer by trade, I have a more creative and brand marketing background from years of experience in brand development and running my own businesses. Having the experience, taking a risk and most importantly having the support around the business and brand is why we have had success.
What inspires you when creating a new collection?
The idea that you can create something NEW and fresh according to what suits the brand and style at the time, it is not that difficult when you break it down, keep the process simple I say and enjoy the process.
Has social media increased your brand following? How do you think social media has changed the fashion world?
Social media seems to be an important component to build brand awareness. It has definitely changed the way people think, it can become too much at time, however is now a part peoples of day to day life, especially around clothing brands and the fashion market in general.
Who is the TRAVISTY man?
The TRAVISTY man is a no fuss type of guy, someone that likes to keep it simple and at the same time is not afraid to stand out in a crowd.
The NEW TRV range has a less is more approach that is clean and fresh for the guy that thinks a little more about the head to toe look.
