KARMME was born through the love and desire to create.
Imby has always created.
She learnt to sew on my grandmother’s Singer treadle sewing machine, sewing lines up and down in purple cotton during her school holidays. She sold Cabbage Patch Kid’s clothes when she was 11 and went to embroidery classes during Uni holidays. 30 years on, little did she realise it was “My happy place, my beautiful space. It’s where I go and what I do when life gets too busy, when I need to clear my mind. Although I remain busy, stimulated and challenged, I am forever KARMME when creating.”
Welcome to the world of KARMME.
Her process as a true creative is, switching off, letting her brain stop and settle, to be in a calm state and letting her mind wander and explore. Deep in bliss thoughts like a dream state while her hands are busy creating bespoke pieces. She is so connected to her pieces each one that is unveiled is like a child to her. When she names each piece its stimulated from fond memories of sewing with her mum, the memories of her mums closet and personality traits of women she admires.
KARMME Leather clutches and tote bags are designed and proudly made in Sydney, Australia. Each clutch is unique with its indigo dyed shibori lining or the unique shibori leather range.
