Eastside Kitchen + Bar in Chippendale’s Kensington Street precinct is an immersive experience. Drawing on Chef Stanley Wong’s revered international career – including at numerous Michelin starred restaurants and Hong Kong’s famed Mandarin Oriental Hotel – Eastside Kitchen + Bar presents a global perspective with a local approach.

Stepping inside the dramatic Eastside Kitchen + Bar you’re instantly immersed in the urban-luxe space. Exposed brick walls and the statement-making arched windows of the historic Old Rum Store building have been effortlessly combined with sleek finishes including the leather panelled-bar, custom bronze light fixtures, herringbone flooring and steel and leather chairs. Finished with an imposing 10-metre mural by Belgian-born graffiti artist Caratoes, Eastside-Kitchen + Bar hints at New York style warehouses while capturing the essence of new-school Australian dining.

As I sit and take in the space, I can’t help but look around at what everyone else is eating. Plates full of colour, freshness and wonder. Everything that left the kitchen, I wanted!

Plate after Plate!

Let’s not forget the cocktails! I loved my activated charcoal cocktail!

With International and Australian wines, Japanese Sake, after-dinner drinks and custom cocktails, the beverage menu completes Eastside Kitchen + Bar.

Now let’s talk about ‘FIRE AND ICE’, that is the IT dessert on the menu! Words can’t describe how amazing this massive platter is! Something for everyone on this plate. I think nearly every table at one on it! We all had food envy when it came out to someone’s table.

Eastside Kitchen + Bar is open for dinner Tuesday through to Sunday and lunch Thursday through to Sunday. Sunday dining is limited to the tasting menu only.

I highly recommend a visit to Eastside Kitchen + Bar
