Ka’llure Jewellery is about to hit the Fashion+Aid Runway in Sept. Can you tell us a bit about the collection and what we can expect?

Nomadic Hearts’ is Ka’llure Jewellery’s new bridal and couture accessory collection, built on a connection to the wandering spirit and decorated heart found in all of us.

From whimsical Art Deco-inspired statement pieces to easy everyday layering items, ‘Nomadic Hearts’ will transform every outfit and bring your style spirit to life.. This diverse range is bursting with a fresh approach on what it means to embellish, adorn and accessorise. It’s the final layer of perfection.

‘Nomadic Hearts’, comes with a promise of a one-of-a-kind quality, but also serves in its versatility. Each piece makes a smooth transition from wedding aisle to everyday glam, wandering from day to night.

Each piece is a kaleidoscope of precious gems, rare crystals, emu feathers, sterling silver motifs, pearls, French laces, sheer silks and bridal tulles. Launched in Sydney at the 2016 Australian Bridal Fashion Week, ‘Nomadic Hearts’ is hand crafted by Artisan, Ka’llure Jewellery, in Melbourne.  “Set your heart free and wander with us….. “

What inspired you to start Ka’llure Jewellery?

Born from a belief that jewellery has a magnetism, a power force……It’s alluring. It captures you, pulls you in & most of all the allure makes you “Have to have it”. There is just something about the piece, it speaks to you & once you have it, it’s a treasure you keep forever and when you bring it out for all to see, you can’t help but want to share it’s story. Founded on the idea that jewellery could be more than an accessory, Ka’llure’s pieces are designed to become an extension of the woman wearing it; a symbol of luck, celebration and love. It’s not just how it looks, it’s how it makes you feel.

What is Ka’llure Jewellery signature style

Ka’llure draws inspiration from iconic women of the past, present, and future. Threads of Art Deco, bohemian beach babe and post-modern edge are woven together to form a hybrid ‘VINT-EDGE’ fusion of style. Ka’llure makes jewellery for dynamic, boldly creative women who want to be defined by Ka’llure’s playful take on modern yet vintage inspired luxury.

The theme for this years Fashion+Aid Ball is Met Ball, Who and What is your inspiration for your outfit on the night?

I couldn’t stop past Philip Treacy’s magnificent Mohawk feather headpiece, made for Sarah Jessica Parker to wear to the 2013 Met Ball in NYC. Our new Nomadic Hearts Collection features duck and emu feathers in many of the pieces so feathers are definitely a big part of my outfit and heavily inspired by Sarah Jessica Parkers outfit.

Ka’llure Jewellery House & Bridal Atelier has been asked to dress Melbourne Model, Sophie Van Den Akker for the opening of Fashion+Aids Runway. We’ve designed her a bold and striking smokey black cape, that we’ve named ‘BLACKTHORN SOUR’. The Cape has a plunging duck feather neckline with bustling sheer black tule shoulders that drape down into a 2 metre long train. The shoulders are incrusted with black beads and crystals and the back features layers of black and oxidised chain, finished with our signature K shield logo. This piece has also been heavily inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Met Ball outfit from 2013 where she wore a stunning Giles Deacon gown & epic Philip Treacy headpiece.
